   One the old forum there was a box down the bottom were you could put in an email address and invite that person to join the forum ... it is no longer available ... I just had someone ask me how to join , and then realised that feature had gone .. it was handy ..I had used it a few times , and I am sure other members would as well ..

   There are a number of odd and worrisome wacky things going on with the Forum. None of the normal fixes or maintenance are working. Be assured I am aware of this, and am trying everything I can think of. I am awaiting some experts with this software to reply to my inquiries. Let's hope they can help.

   I just wanted to clarify the purpose of the Travel Log forum. The description says palm travels eg botanic gardens, but not all threads have been about palms. The recent SoCal hiking thread was very enjoyable, but should I feel guilty when reading it?

    Hi Dean, I have recently been experimenting with compressing photos to fit the 112640 byte limit. I feel that uploading photos directly to the forum server may be better than using iffy photo hosting services that may go out of business at any time resulting in a 1000's of broken links to photos making most of my posts less than useful. I think this forum should be able to stand the test of time and not be subject to such failures. However, I have found the 112640 byte limit to be very restrictive to posting at the quality that I am accostomed to by using photo hosting services. Is there any way that this limit can be raised using this current forum software ??? Incide…

    This may sound crazy, but...... My eMail program produces a sound when I get new mail. Is it possable that this program could do the same w/a new post, or would that drive us all crazy? Sometimes I'm reading something and when done go on to another program. If notified of a new post I just might come back to look at it.

    Dean - Does Ikonboard support 'View First Unread'? VBulletin fourm software allows you view the first unread post in a thread. For example, on a thread that has been around for a couple days, clicking 'View First Unread' would zip you past all the posts you've already read to the first new one. It would be a nice addition if it's available.

    I thought that I had too large an address for uploading as a avatar. Last night I tried every way I could figure and failed each time. I even tried a 90 x 60 pixel thumnail.     What does the "Ignore" button do?

    On first glance I would expect it to ignore a poster (say Dave from So-Cal... because he uses words like egads and pulcritude). Then would there be missing or blank posts? How about a missing or blank topic? Or does it just not update the envelope icon saying there's a new post. I really don't want to goof with it and ignore Dave.

    Few minutes ago i saw that forum shows that none user is online although there have been postings at that time. It also show (red icon) that i'm offline when i post. Here's print screen (time is changed to match my time zone)

    I have received directions to remove the discussion about the removal of the Palapa as well. Apparently that too was becoming too controversial. So for now, this thread is closed with the following message only: From the President: "Due to potential liability issues that have been brought to the attention of the IPS, it has been deemed necessary to shut down The Palapa.
