   I was wondering since Phoenix has such a drastic difference in climate from most of the other cities represented here if we could get a subforum of our own? I regularly find myself looking for information on a palm but can only find input from people growing in FL, CA and HI. While its nice to get some feedback from these people for the most part it does not apply to my situation. Can Phoenix get a subforum or maybe the southwest in general?

   Dean, Our local Palm society chapter is having problems with keeping our website current & up to date. I am sure that there are a number of different affiliates around the word that have the same problem. So, I was wondering if the Palmtalk forum could start a new subtopic labeled "Affiliated Chapter News" Under this subtopic could be other subtopics for all the affiliated chapters that would like to post their news on IPS Palmtalk. What I am getting at is, this space would be for each affiliated group to post their newsletters, photos and updates about their chapter, on this forum, rather than have their own website.    First let me apologize for posting this thread here. For some unknown reason, I cannot post in the Administrative section. Perhaps the MODS could assist in the moving of this thread. Suggestion: Could we possibly get a feature, say adjacent to the IPS logo that could convert Celsius to Fahrenheit and vice-versa. Often when I am reading a post and Celsius is used, I am kinda in the dark as to the accurate temperture. What do the members think of the suggestion?

    In my opinion, the last 2 minutes is a worthless piece of information. I know that the reason it was changed was that the names listed, were already off line(possibly) but it does let us know who has been online. Anyways, I liked the 30 minute version much better...

    IPS website past issues is broken!

    I know this site has been recently overhauled(at my request), but I don't believe anything has changed. I still can't retrieve past issues(some issues can be clicked on and viewed, but mostly they cannot)! As an IPS member, I am perterbed to say the least. I don't want my money back(as I hope it goes to worthy palm conservation), but how can I honestly reccomend the IPS to potential members?! Palms and Principes is why I joined the IPS and I still cannot access this reading material in all the time I have been a member. When I click on the article, Adobe asks me to accept their terms and I do, then I am met with a runtime error and my entire window is closed! If this we…

    Often, I search the palm exchange section. Many times I see people are let down by finding that what they want is on the opposite coast! Maybe this is too complex, but maybe not... How about a section for Southern California, a section for posting just in South Florida, and international add section, and an all encompassing one. This would not only make shopping and selling easier, but also not such a let-down.

    forum not recognizing that we're logged in?

    How come the list at the bottom of the main page shows very few people are logged in, when I'm pretty sure that more than 8 members are currently logged in. I can be having a PM with someone and the little color person next to their avatar that indicates they are online is not turned on. It seems that the forum is not recognizing that some people are logged in even though they are on the board posting and viewing. Whatupwitdat? Thanks mods for all your hard work.

    Linking problem to PT through google

    This is a peculiar annoyance that keeps happeneing to me for the last two weeks. I always go to Google, search for 'Palmtalk' and therafter click on the first link that turns up in the result - usually to the PT Forum. On doing so I get directed to this - http://url123.info/e875cd64, which is some literature on Windows 7. Now the funny part, if I go back to the seach results on Google and retry the same link, it works fine. This has happened on three different PCs running different OS' so it can't be a PC specific problem. I wonder if anyone else has had the same experience.

    palm talk doesn't recognize me

    This has been going on for a while. Every time I go to palm talk, the site makes me sign in. While that is not really a big deal, it is a small annoyance. Photobucket recognizes my computer...so does barnes & noble, yahoo and others. So it is not a firewall thing. Any thoughts? I always click the box to remember me but alas...

    I received a new PM this morning to which I cannot reply. The message has a red X next to it on the "My Conversations" page, and when the message is accessed the send button is grayed out and says "You cannot reply." Why would this be happening? I have some other messages appearing the same way, but most are "reply-able."

    Hi Dean, The last few times that I have replied to some PMs; when I post them they appear with some picture attachments that I did not attach. I did not even have these pics on my computer. Weird, as I have no virus and have never seen these pics before. Jim

    Some of us are not wealthy enough to pay for a full membership, yet some of us (such as myself) would love to share / give away some seeds, or trade - where no money is involved - Why should we be required to pay a hefty fee just to post something we are giving away? I understand the wisdom in having vendors / sellers having to pay something, but what about the little guys who just enjoy sharing a few seeds here and there? I mean, this puts people like myself in a position where we are "taking advantage" of the "freebies" because those people giving those seeds away, have to pay, and those of us who get those seeds, cannot return the favor.     Freeze data forum

    I was trying to find some data on the freeze data forum and it was very difficult to navigate or find what I wanted, yet there is a mine of information there. If there was some way to organise this info into alphapbetical order it would be a goldmine, and i suspect more people would add info. As it is people seem to post the same plant over and over rathe rthan accumulating info.
