-Did you know PalmTalk now supports the uploading of multiple photos? You can choose 4 at a time to upload. (I may change that to 5) When posting a photo look for "Help with attaching files" Try our advanced uploader which supports multiple file uploading (modern browser required)" Then proceed and look for "Enable Flash Uploader." Check it and you will then be able to choose multiple files to be uploaded all at once. -Did you know there appears to be an option for a "skin" that makes using the Forum from mobile devices easier and faster. From around 11.30am (GMT+1) this morning until 9.30pm I was unable to connect to the forum. I cleared my cache, re-booted but still no luck. So I checked the status of www.palmtalk.org with a couple of websites: Down For Everyone Or Just Me? and CheckSite.us - Site Check Sure enough, both failed to connect. Can anyone confirm that the server has been going off-line?

Ever since the last upgrade, when you go to the membership list - you find the data for Joined:, Group:, and Posts: a skewed. This information is not legible. Just curious if there is a fix for this or is it just my computer? Has anyone else noticed this?

The new upgrade "broke" the Classic Blue Skin. There may be a way to fix it with a little bit of work. But, if very few will miss it, the time and potential problems a fix could lead to is not worth it. If you are using it, you will notice some weirdness with some things. Try using the newer skin (options at bottom left hand corner of page) and see if you can't get used to it. There are actually some improvements not available with Classic Blue.

I didn't see this in a current topic so please re-direct me if this issue has already been covered. There is no longer a date displayed on any of the posts (just a 10 digit number starting with "12844") -- I checked in my settings and didn't see anything that I could change there -- is this "now normal" or is there a problem with the date feature? Hi Might I suggest that the Search default be changed to search "all words"? Currently it is set to search "any words", which of course brings up hundreds of pages in most cases and so is no use. e.g. Seaching for how to "store palm seeds" brings up every page with the word "store", plus every page with the word "Palm", plus every page with the word "seed" - thousands of pages. No help at all! Hopefully this is a forum setting which can be easily accessed by administrators(?) Thanks

Well, The heavy lifting is done. There are still some tweaks etc. that need to be done. If you guys think it's weird getting used to and figuring out the new forum look and features, you should take a look at the Administration Control Panel. Please realize I am starting from the same place as you are. I will have to figure out some answers as well. So if you have figured out an answer to a question, please chime in. Don't forget, there is a "HELP" option in the upper right hand corner. Try checking there first for the obvious things you may be having trouble with. Hi All, I'm new here, I've been wondering since their is frequent discussion, sale, and exchange about cycad. Wouldn't it be better to have another sub-topic devoted for it, such as CyadTalk. I know that there is a Cycad Forum, but it's mainly sales and exchanges in Africa. I like their forum setup and I think it would be good to have one here too. This is just suggestion and would like to know what you feel about this. -David

Black band with Firefox

Since the upgrade to IP Board I have occasional issues where a black band covers part of the screen. It only happens occasionally, and the width of the band varies. I have the same problem on another forum that uses IP Board also. Browser is Firefox 3.5.1, but has persisted through various version upgrades of FF. A search here found nothing and only one hit on Google. Obviously, I have not found the right keywords to describe this issue. Has anyone else had this problem and/or found a solution? With all of the discussion, photos, etc. regarding the Darian event, it maight be a good idea to consolidate them into its own subforum...at least for a while. This looks as big or bigger than reporint on a biennial...... just an idea....it will also prevent off thread commentary in the Discussing Palms subforum, of which I am already guilty......

For IPS Members, there will now be a 2000 KB per post limit for attachment uploads. This means you may display many more thumbnails in each post. You will find this more convenient if you have a lot of photos to post. In addition this will further reduce the amount of scrolling necessary for those threads that utilize thumbnails. There is no way for me to place a limit on each pic's size. As a result, you may now upload one 1900 KB photo, or nineteen 100 KB photos per post. I would encourage you to still attempt to keep photos to a reasonable size. Anything over 350-400 KB does not make the photo any better for our purposes. So any photo larger than that is an unnecessary…
