   Having trouble uploading pics from my I pad. It's saying the file is to large or it's the wrong format. Unable to upload an avatar or profile pic as well. These are pics taken from my I pad or phone not sure why they would be to large? Any help is appreciated thank you

   Indoor & Container Grown Palms

   Hi. I'm not sure this is the place to do this but it does say "suggestions" so here it goes: I suggest adding a subforum called "Indoor & Container Grown Palms". I don't know how many are interested in it but there seems to be a few at least. Since many grow in containers also in hotter climates, maybe more than I realize (I hope). Worth a try?

   Anyone using 8.1? I am going to buy a new laptop but am concerned since I was using my brother's with 8.1 to post here on Palmtalk and it would not allow me to upload pictures on to the site. Should I look into another OS or was that a one time error?

    Hey members, I were going to post the two photoes in my topic "Heliconia tortuosa cv Red Twister flower at latitude 37oS.", but this website pissed me off when it issued "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community." Then I tried a new topic, but this website angered me again when it issused " You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community." Help needed Clinton.

    Content redaction as a result of ToS changes

    As the IPS is changing the ToS, there must be a means by which a user may redact or remove old content he or she does not want to fall under the new ToS. I cannot seem to find this feature. Surely we ought to be able to select which of our self generated content we are happy to surrender under the new terms and which content we choose not to, and so redact from the site. In the absence of such a feature, I think it would be acceptable to allow users to delete all their past contributions or at least sequester them until such time as a more selective approach to content publishing if offered to the membership.     Spell check not working on Firefox + Mac OSX

    Dean, I don't know how much control you have over what goes on with ip.board, and if you can do some HTML/JavaScript tweaking, but the CK editor used by the board is improperly implemented for Firefox on OSX. The CK Editor plugin that ip.board uses requires a declaration "config.disableNativeSpellChecker = false" otherwise the native editor in Mac OSX that firefox leverages won't work. That needs to be in the config file for the editor. See http://stackoverflow.com/questions/13336998/how-to-make-spell-checker-work-for-ckeditor-wysiwyg-editor, it spells out how to fix the problem.

    Why is it that PalmTalk regularely fails to load after around 10PM PDT, and especially on Friday and Saturday evenings? Do you guys have some sort of service level agreements? If so, you may want to check to see if your provider is violating them.

    Tagging feature for photos?

    On certain popular websites, you can "tag" a photo by clicking on a point, and a bar will pop up where a name can be inserted. After tagging is complete, you can mouse over the photo, and the names will appear; remove the mouse and they disappear again. Wouldn't that be a superb tool for "tagging" the various palms in garden photos? Is that a possible add-on to this site, Mr. Palm Mod?

    When navigating between the subforums, I often click on the colorful PalmTalk banner at the top of the page. Now when I do that, I get instantly logged out. Not normal. I also get kicked out when I click on the PalmTalk.org tab at the top of the page.

    Hello! I have been off the Palm Talk for years and am listed as a member, but I cannot start a new thread to list palms for sale. It said to contact the "Moderator" but there really isn't anyone listed as "Moderator" so I contacted what seemed to be the most correct choice for all of the "administrator's" available.     The PalmTalk Web Committtee has decided to institute a new policy directed at curbing some of the rude, impolite, and hostile behavior floating around the Forum lately. It is a refinement of an existing policy, and one we wish to make sure everyone is aware of. It could be considered a "Three Strikes You're Out" policy.
