Hi all, After a couple of quick chats between FM Bencassa and myself an little idea has surfaced and I thought I would gauge any potential interest? We thought it might be a nice thing if there was an ( annual ? ) gathering of interested Aussie palmtalkers? A little mini biennial type thing. Perhaps a different city and a different botanical garden somewhere in Oz each year? It would be nice to put some more faces to names and do some real life palm talking. I think it would probably be a pretty informal type affair and spouses etc would be more than welcome. Is I said it was a bit of a thought bubble but worth investigating further we thought?? Any interest for …

To all PSSC members: The Palm Society of Southern California has been the victim of a financial crime, which we first learned about after our meeting on September 20, 2014. Our investigation as to the full extent of losses is continuing and we will keep members updated as details become known. We are working with law enforcement to effect the arrest and prosecution of those responsible. We will not allow this to stop our publication of the Palm Journal or other work we do. We intend to move forward, however much the losses turn out to be. As always, we are and remain grateful for your support. David Bleistein, President

Hi Everyone, regarding tomorrow’s BPACS outing... The August outing is to Roma St Parklands, a very short walk from the Brisbane CBD. The parklans contains a great collection of plants, including many exotic palms. Arno King has alerted us to the fact that this weekend is also 'Parks Alive ' at Roma St - the biggest event there for the year. This will impact on parking availability, so it may be best to try and park away from Roma St and then walk/bus/train to the parklands to avoid parking frustration. We will still continue with the tour at 10:00am , so to make sure you are there on time, please factor in the additional parking/travel time. Greg Smith has kindly…
