Palm Beach Palm Beach Palm Society will be holding its yearly fall sale on October 10 & 11 at the Mounts Botanical Garden in West Palm Beach Florida. The garden is at 531 N. Military Trail. The hours are 9AM to 4PM Saturday and 9AM to 3PM Sunday. There will be many nice palms and cycads available. There will also be fertilizer,Books,shirts and lots of free advice.

I just got off the phone with Cherie and she has decided on the date for Mardy's service. On October 24th at 11 AM - 3 PM, Cherie will hold the memorial service for Mardy at the Darian residence. Everyone is invited and the garden will be open to share one last time stories and admire his hard work. She hopes to see everyone there. Please do not bring anything per her request. Drinks and sandwiches will be served. The 35th edition of the South Florida Palm Society's Fall Show & Sale will take place November 7 and 8. Although hundreds of species of palms will be offered to the public, this event satisfies a broad spectrum of interests. Throughout the weekend, the Society will operate an information center to provide advice for successfully raising palms and to give away fresh seeds of a broad selection of species, as well as newly-printed PLANT A PALM bumper stickers. We are pleased to announce the next Society meeting will be September 19th, 2015 in Los Angeles County in the cities of both Long Beach and Lakewood, Ca. The two gardens are about 5 minutes apart. Im organizing an international meeting on May 30th, 2015. There will be lectures take place, various stands with plantsales from all kinds of plants, and people that swap or sell plants from their own private collections. There are also tours behind the scenes. For these tours you have to sign in..there is limited space. It started to be a meeting for cycadlovers (European Cycad Society) but to make it attractive to a larger group of people there is chosen for more plantgroups like palms, aroids and succulents. Hi Everyone, the April outing this coming Sunday will be to three Gold Coast gardens, all within 15 minutes of each other, and about 50 minutes south of the GPO. These gardens (Daryl O'Connor, Mike Green and Andy Green) have a wide and varied collection of palms. In Altadena, California, north of Pasadena, up against mighty San Gabriel mountains. Greg Haines and John Cressey joined the Palm Society in 1976. Their Oakland home and its palms and tropical planting were lost in the 1991 Oakland Hills Firestorm. Long members of The Huntington Library and Gardens they moved to Altadena. Their home with garden is on historic Mendocino Lane that has an impressive planting of Washingtonia robusta, the skyduster palm, that line both sides of the curved street from Allen to Altadena Drive.
