Whatever it’s in, either way I don’t think anyone is running around to dig it out real fast!

The zonepushing corner today...I think things grow faster when you're not there! Everything has just grown itself in the past few months apart from the handful of days of winter protection. Hope the rain keeps getting delivered...no watering needed at all in 2026 so far. The Licuala fordiana is really looking like a Licuala Direct seeded alex getting big Lytocaryum hoehnei leaves are nearly doubling in size!

Another variety in the collection Taizannishiki. Give it ten years and it should be an interesting conversation point!

What are y'all talking about, we've had plenty of rain in southern Brevard, pretty soon, people will be complaining about too much rain.

I had no idea they are still rare in cultivation, my seed supplier said he had a few, so I thought ok that’s one palm I don’t have in my collection I will get a few seeds. If I had known they were rare I would’ve got 200 seeds.

That’s a million dollar question that one. Encepharlartos with the toothed leaf edges, but apart from that, there are some pretty clever people on palm talk, you may find out how clever if they answer your question!

That’s pretty well much what I thought until they proved me wrong with a few different varieties. Even the ones in the ground now in my winter are opening new leaves, and sitting in a tray of water in the greenhouse. Like most varieties of palms there are always exceptions in the genus for ones that will tolerate cool conditions, Calyptrocalyx are one example. You just never know until you try. Iguanura palms took me a little time to work out how to grow them, but the reward for cracking their code was worth it!

In regard to the NSB coconuts, were you referring to the one outside of the Flagler Tavern? https://www.palmtalk.org/forum/topic/91381-new-smyrna-beach-coconut-and-other-exotics/

How’s it doing these days? I’ve found them easy if a bit slow.

Congratulations! I know you've been in need of some land for so long! There were some people in Arizona on YouTube growing out fruit forests in the extreme heat. They were able to grow all kinds of cool things. Lots of wood chips and established canopy and you might be surprised what you can pull off.

So.... does anyone have backyard nurseries in Southern California? I cannot buy plants in Arizona as there are agriculture inspection stations when you enter the state so was hoping people in Southern California had backyard nurseries, since it's not very easy to find exotic palms in California.

The 22" near Wiggins MS is an all time state record for rainfall in 24 hours. Kinda wish this state would make the news for something besides corrupt cops and data centers, but i didn't want it to be this.

Dreaming more like delusional!!! But hey it’s got 3 watcher’s and it’s in 2 carts, must be family members waiting for the day to hit them up for some dollars! I feel like sending them an offer pay me $14000 grand and I’ll dig it out and even take it away to the tip for that, pay for the new excavator in one job🤣

I think that’s why I have finished it yet. Grand opening not sure 🤔 but you better get your plane ticket ready. First ten customers get a free cold hardy lanonia dasyantha, and a sausage sandwich 🥪

My understanding is there are two more 2010 surviving coconuts in Volusia County. One in NSB in front of a store right next to the beach. Any word on that one? The other was a very well sited coconut at a condo in Daytona Beach. Don’t recall where it was exactly.

Took a trip to Ft Lauderdale when I was 4 and enjoyed all the coconut palms on the beach. Had an appreciation for them ever since.

At this point you have to hope for a tropical system to get rain. Then it just floods.

Yeah at this point we have 2 or 3 months a year anything tropical.can actulay survive on its on without insane help via watering everyday.

I was trying to increase my house's curb appeal by adding some nice landscaping. After ripping out the first tacky design using home depot plants, I did research on landscaping design and plants in general. I loved learning about the plants and specifically the palms and all their uniqueness and presence they give in the garden. Websites like RarePalmSeeds.com also made it feel like it was shopping and the way the site is designed just made palms so cool for me.
