   I have a number of Floss Silk trees here that I hand-pollinationed this past fall. I plan to grow 10 or so out from each batch to see what the resulting flowers are. I won't have the room to do more. The offspring usually retain characteristics of both parents, but it's all random on which dominant and recessive traits pop up. You could get a nearly identical parent flower, a distinctive cross between the 2, or something very different. Every seed will have a unique flower, even if only slightly different. There is lots more to read about their growth habits and rates, but if let grow fast, they will generally flower in 2-3 years from seed in a 15 gal pot size. T…

I bought it at the Leu Gardens sale as a seedling years ago because it had a variegated leaf, but this did not persist and I do not have room for a massive Phoenix in my yard unfortunately.     Everyone: I have a pair of Howea belmores that need a new home. Free, as you wish love really was. Gratis. No dinero necessario. As you can see from the pic, they're a bit sunburned. They'd really benefit from a home at the beach or under high canopy. I have others I want to keep, but these need a good home. Shoot me a PM, come get, bring a truck, and help an old man in training dig. I'd plan on at least an 18" rootball. Though I understand Howeas take digging well.     The almost 6 foot tall Sago is in the ground on the other side of a four foot fence. There is no gate in the yard. The only way out is over the fence. Will not fit into a 24 inch wood box. Must be a 36 inch.

    I recycled a TON of my pots yesterday at a local nursery that takes 15 gallon, 5 gallon, and 1 gallons. 48, 171, and 234 respectively. But I still have a good amount of 20 gallon, 7 gallon, 3 gallon, 2 gallon, 12", 10", and some other odd sizes. If you want them, they're yours. I should note that this in Vista, not Pahoa.
