I'm pleased to announce that we will be visiting two gardens in Huntington Beach, Orange County on September 17, 2022. GARDEN NO. 1: The home and garden of Gary Wild at 20551 Montauk Cir. Huntington Beach. He started his garden about 20 years ago. His yard is full of mostly mature palms including a 12’ tall bottle palm, several Dypsis, Clinostigma savoryanum, and a large Kentiopsis oliviformis and many others, most nice and tall (give yourself something to look forward to if you have a new garden). Members of the Northern California Palm Society, as well as anyone else interested, are invited to participate in a palm garden clean-up day this coming Saturday, August 13th from 9 a.m. to noon. For those not familiar with the Oakland Palmetum, it is located at 666 Bellevue Ave within the Gardens at Lake Merritt https://gardensatlakemerritt.org/gardens-map/ Parking is free along Bellevue Avenue if you tell the parking attendant at the entrance that you are volunteering in the gardens. Hello, everyone: The PSSC's July 16, 2022 PSSC meeting is going to be in the Point Loma section of San Diego at two gardens which are only a few minutes apart. There will be a PSSC Board meeting at the first garden, followed by a potluck lunch, auction and raffle at the second garden.
