I’ve been putting feelers out for years and would love to have a Chamaedorea tuerckheimii (Vera Cruz). I’ll buy seeds, seedling, juvenile, adult, anything is fine.Hoping someone has one to sell or can point me in the right direction. I’m a huge admirer of the Chamaedorea genus and it probably goes without saying I want one that from a sustainable source. My dream is to have a male and female to produce seed, germinate seedlings and distribute them to increase the population, at least in cultivation! Thanks for the help errbody!

I've started a palm garden on the Pine View School school campus (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pine_View_School) here is Sarasota. A couple of areas have been designated for it so far and I'm hoping that we can expand in the future. The school grounds are accessible to the public on weekends. At this point I donated Sabal causiarum, S. mauritiiformis, S. uresana, Syagrus botryophora, S. cearensis, Livistona mariae subsp. rigida, Ptychosperma caryotoides and Attalea cohune and Ptychosperma waitianum that haven't been planted yet; and Keith (Zeeth) has donated Syagrus amara, Kentiopsis oliviformis, Jubaeopsis caffra, and a dwarf Coconut that hasn't been planted yet. Looking for Serenoa repens "Ultra Silver"
by Alicehunter2000- 2 replies
So I realize this is not a real variety....but I wanted to distinguish what I am looking for as opposed to the regular run-of-the-mill "azul" . If you have ever visited the coastal area of Florida from Melbourne (Merritt Island) down to Sebastian Inlet, you know that the area has vast areas ofvery silver Serenoa repens. If you look at these stands of native palms you can see that some are even more silver/white than average. I would like to purchase seeds/ plants that exhibit these "Ultra Silver" traits. Thanks
