Looking for Serenoa repens "Ultra Silver"
by Alicehunter2000- 2 replies
So I realize this is not a real variety....but I wanted to distinguish what I am looking for as opposed to the regular run-of-the-mill "azul" . If you have ever visited the coastal area of Florida from Melbourne (Merritt Island) down to Sebastian Inlet, you know that the area has vast areas ofvery silver Serenoa repens. If you look at these stands of native palms you can see that some are even more silver/white than average. I would like to purchase seeds/ plants that exhibit these "Ultra Silver" traits. Thanks

koelreuteria bipinnata
by Turtlesteve- 0 replies

I saw these everywhere in southern China last week. Quantity and color of seed pods on this tree is quite variable. I saw some that were quite spectacular - completely covered in bright red or hot pink seed pods (I didn't get a photo but the intensity of color was similar to https://trees.stanford.edu/images/Koelreuteria/KOEbip-Rains-fruit.jpg). On the other end of the spectrum some were dull brownish pink. It was not clear if the brighter ones are an intentional cultivar or natural variation. Seed was not ripe yet on any of them. Does anyone have a showier form of this tree and could spare some seeds when they are ripe? Steve
