I am facing very recently a similar problem with this enterprise. It's been a month since placement of order and payment in advance and I still have nothing sort of notification about shipment and, imo far worse, no reply to inquiry messages. It may by of interest that money transfer ended up in ... Vilnius! Vilnius is is the capital of Lithuania. The whole set up does not look regular. I strongly suggest, that any potential client rather skip this enterprise.

Although I lived in southern California for 12 years, I never had much time for the garden. We have a home in southern Spain and we have a number of young palms, all fan palms. Initial I thought that they were Robusta, but I am having my doubts now. The plants are self planted and in the region of 5.5 years old. What gives me doubts of my Initial idea of being Robusta, is the trunk for the age seems big for a Robusta. Also the fan elements are straight and stiff. I will add a picture. Any thoughts from those with more knowledge than myself.

I have been trying for years to id this one and only recently realized you can put photos into a google search, infinitely helpful. Arenga put me on the right track and after reading threads on here and Palmpedia I'm almost certain it's an Agrenga micrantha. Interesting that a palm can grow in the Himalayan Highlands and absolutely thrive here on Hawaii at 600'. This palm is probably around 25-30'? Has 3 main trunks and 6 smaller ones. I've read that fruiting is a sign that that particular trunk will die off, which makes sense now because on that one there are no more fronds and it hasn't put out any new growth. Which makes me sad because this is one of my favorite palms here but it also sound like it will fruit a few more times before it is done and there are more trunks coming up, so it's not gone for good.

On Wednesday, I bagged them and put them in the freezer. I'll give them one week there.

Which reminds me...forgot to send that Arenga micrantha to you this week. Will get onto it next week!

There's no ramenta on the midrib of the pinnae on my palms, at least not yet...I'd have thought they'd have adult leaves by now? Does this mean they're not cunninghamiana??

He's grows weed in California.

The flowers are really the only way you truly identify a palm. But a quick search and a bit picture googling is usually helpful enough.

Thanks Happypalms, I've been trying to narrow it down and was just looking at Arenga micrantha, maybe that's it? It's the closest I've found but I'm not totally sure yet?

An Arenga, not sure what variety but you won’t have to wait long to find out, someone will id it for you . Or you could do a bit of research.

They do prefer a bit of heat, and even a little dry at times that doesn’t seem to hurt them, good drainage is another thing they like. And iam sure a frost is not going to be friendly towards them.

Looking pretty good, hopefully they turn out to be as good as the parent plant. It usually takes at east 3 years for a tube stock seedling to grow before it’s planted, you could get away planting them out niw, if you have some well amended soil why not! Richard

No wonder it’s called the dypsis complex, with so many different dypsis variants of the one species. Baronii is one example with so many variations, unfortunately a lot of habitat has been lost in Madagascar, so blacki could very well be a true to form dypsis of some extinct species in habitat and it was lucky enough to have seeds collected before it was lost in habitat. Whatever it is one way or another it’s one beautiful palm! Richard

Get yourself an Anthurium pendulifolium. Aroid gods definitely seem to smile upon those in my experience. And they look fantastic.

Dave I would place in the shade and only use organic fertiliser like fishmeal or seaweed until they re established

I hear your growing Hedyscepes down there. So a palm such as Oraniopsis should grow well south of Mexico, but be careful as the penguins like to eat them!😂 Next order see how much space is left , iam sure a bromeliad could be left behind to make space.
