Want Bamboo - Will Trade Palms
by osideterry- 1 follower

December's rain and wind caused my large Acacia to lean against a fence common with my neighbor's yard. It was threatening to bring the fence down, so today I cut it, and now I have this gaping hole with a view of my neighbor's house. I've been wanting to remove and put in bamboo anyway, and this has accelerated that situation. So... I'm looking for good sized bamboo, eventually 3-5" culms, clumping, erect appearance (not weepy like B. tuldoides "ventricosa"), and decent size - large 5 gallon and up. Like I said, oldamii would be fine. I only need 3-4 good sized pots. My finances are such, that I can't just go out and buy the bamboo, so I'm looking to trade palms. I…

I have about 50 or more Sprouted D. madagascariensis 'mahajanga' seedlings to trade. These were sprouted from my own tree (first time it has fruited), they are adjacent germinators so they are very small right now, perfect for mailing. Interested in trading for Echinocereus, other aloes I don't have, or other palm seeds etc that I don't have. US only. Beachpalms@cfl.rr.com Thanks!

Fresh Butia odorata seed for trade
by John Case- 1 reply
- 1.5k views
All, I harvested the fruits on Monday and the seeds finished drying today. I estimate that I have about 2500 seeds available for trade or other transactions. These seeds are from a tree that produces exceptionally tasty fruit, better than any other Butia I have tasted in the past. I ate quite a bit of it during the process....... and I must say that my fiber intake improved as well. If you are interested, please let me know. Thanks, John

Free Sabal seeds
by AggiePalms- 22 replies

I've got some strange Sabal minor seeds to give away...I had a thread on here earlier this year about the mother plant; the leaves lay almost horizontal, the plant has only a few leaves at any time, but it grows new leaves like crazy, and hasn't increased in size much since I planted it in 1995 or so. No trunk or above ground development; all leaves are directly from the ground. I can supply photos, too. Very healthy, just an odd growth habit. Act now and I will throw in some Sabal palmetto seeds too. Two Sabal species for the price of one! ($0.00) Just give me your mailing address; these are very cold hardy seeds. I can probably supply 3-6 interested sprouters…

I have the following palms available for pick up in the New Orleans area. Most are in three gallon pots and are dying to get into the ground. There doesn't seem to be too many people from south Louisiana or Mississippi participating in the forum, but maybe there are some who are lurking and might be interested. Arenga engleri Bismarckia nobilis Chamaerops humilis Copernicia alba Dypsis decipiens Euterpe edulis Livistona chinensis Phoenix theophrasti Sabal causiarum Sabal etonia Sabal minor Sabal unknown? Serenoa repens Syagrus romanzoffiana Trachycarpus latisectus Trithrinax campestris Wodyetia bifurcata All of these palms were unprotected during the…

Pandanus furcatus
by tank- 0 replies

Looking to trade or sell this large Pandanus furcatus, one of the more cold hardy pandans Its 8-9ft overall in the pot (about 6-7ft tall in the ground). It has been trimmed to fit in the greenhouse and to prevent injury during transport. I live near both I-75 and HWY301 in Gainesville. Should be hardy into the mid 20Fs, especially if protected from heavy frost. It has seen 25F (only slight frost) with minor damage. Looking specifically for Pritchardia thurstonii, any butia x cocosoid hybrids, cold hardy citrus (especially limequats), or most coccothrinax spps.

seed swap
by palms2plant- 0 replies
- 2.6k views
Mainland US. I have a few seed types I can ususally gather some of anytime in my Southern Cal area . In particular those of you in Florida might be able to get a few on my seed wish list like Dictyosperma album (hurricane plam) or Lantania verschaffeltii (yellow latin palm). I am proposing we swap some seed. The main thing is the seeds need to be ripe and not from the ground to reduce any chance of sending a bug and ensure freshness. They also need to have the fruit removed. If interested Pm me. Sorry if you are outside the US mainland but the law requires an import license. Local seeds often available Archontophoenix cunninghamiana (king) Brahea edulis Chamaed…
