Five Species of Palm Seedlings for Sale
by PalmatierMeg- 4 replies
I need to clear out a passel of palm seedlings I've germinated in the past few years. As a buyer I've discovered palms that were commonly sold 10 years ago have disappeared from the market and serious palm lovers are left with the 'usual suspects' nearly all sellers peddle now. A few species I plan to sell may be the last to hit the market for years. Sale Provisos: 1. Sales to continental US only. No sales to HI 2. Payment via PayPal friends & family, check (sales held till check clears) or money order (ditto) 3. Minimum shipping via USPS Priority Rate = $15. I will quote you an exact amount based on what you buy, weight and where you live. Be aware shi…

Coccothrinax clarensis sp/hyb seeds for Sale in Cape Coral, FL
by PalmatierMeg- 3 replies
I have ~200 large seeds I harvested from a small palm I bought from Jeff Searle as a 3g back circa 2008. In the past 15-16 years it grew to be 7' tall with a 3" diameter stem. My research told me it might be C. clarensis because of the unique trunk fiber weave, but expert input suggests it is a hybrid with an unknown species. Small palms often put out small crops of seeds so I don't expect more until next year. I sell to the continental US. No sales to HI. Payment via Paypal friends & family, personal check or money order Contact me via PM for a quote. Do not try to order by posting in this topic - your order should be private. Coccothrinax …

Foxtail palm (Wodyetia bifurcata)
by David_Sweden- 1 follower

My beautiful Foxtail Palm has outgrown my apartment. A bit more than 220 cm from soil surface (a bit more than 245 cm incl pot). Grown by me from seed, sown 2018-05-24. Let me first say that I hope someone is interested in picking it up, because most shipping companies don't do > 2 metres and the cheapest I found that does, costs around €150. For the palm my suggested price is €40 even if it is worth at least 10 times that. Foxtail Palms love sunshine, although this has lived exclusively off grow lights so if to be put in the sun it should gradually get used to it. Rather easy to manage, grows similarly fast a Kentia palms, no acute need for repotting, needs …

First time Gastrococcus has set viable seeds
by NatureGirl- 3 followers

After 2 years of producing hollow seeds, year 3 is the charm. My Gastrococcus = Acrocomia has finally set viable seeds. Years ago, I sprouted these fresh in only a couple weeks, (in very high heat of Summer). These Palms are Hurricane Proof, Cold Hardy, and the lower Spines do fall off as it gets older. I should be selling these soon if there’s any interest. I know people either hate spiny palms or love them, nothing in between. lol.

I have a few 7 gallon, outside-grown Pritchardia martioides for sale - $50 Pritchardia martioides was placed into Martii a while back. Mother plant got beat up this winter because I removed a Royal but you get the idea. This is a really a nice form of Martii that is slow to trunk, and a smaller plant. My mother plant was grown from seed off Mardy Darians plant. If you are a Pritchardia loved, this would be great addition.

Dypsis lutescens Fused Leaf 4-year seedlings x4 in 1g
by PalmatierMeg- 1 follower

This true-from-seed mutation of the normally common Golden Cane Palm came to the attention of PalmTalk during the 2016 Biennial in Thailand where this mutation originated. I bought 10 seeds from RPS the following year or so and currently have four extra seedlings that need new homes. These seedlings were agonizingly slow growing compared to the standard golden cane and these are four years old. They do germinate true from seed as RPS claims so maybe in the future this Fused Leaf Form will become more easily available. See info below: https://www.rarepalmseeds.com/dypsis-lutescens-fused-leaf Dypsis lutescens Fused Leaf Form: $20.00 each (4 available) O…

Sabal Lisa in Socal

I have 5 Sabal Lisa in 15" Deep pots for sale in Santa Clarita. Seed batch was purchased from PalmetierMeg in 12/2015. I will say that after growing them for about 5 years, I threw away about 40% of the seedlings because they started to show specimen palmetto regular leaves. Then about in the last year or two the ones I thought I vetted out had about another half that threw out specimen palmetto regular leaves again, so I was quite disappointed. At this point, its taken me about almost 8 years to finally vet through whatever is left and below are the vetted true to form that show the cupped leaf formation and/or the split bifid leaf formation. So I would say my germi…

I think that most of the members and visitors to this website are familiar with Sabal palmetto ‘Lisa’, but in case you aren’t, check out Palmpedia’s excellent page on it: https://www.palmpedia.net/wiki/Sabal_sp._'Lisa' S. palmetto ‘Lisa’ palms have fused leaflets and very stiff leaves. Progeny of Sabal palmetto ‘Lisa’ supposedly have a 67% chance of coming true to the parent’s form, but results can vary widely. I have seeds available from an excellent specimen (pictured). I collected these seeds personally late last November. Seeds are $16/50, $25/100. Shipping in the continental USA is $3. International shipping is $20, since I have to send it …
