So What Caught Your Eye Today?
happypalms replied to The Gerg's topic in DISCUSSING PALM TREES WORLDWIDEIt may only be one seed on this dypsis species, but a great sign for better things to come, it will set seeds! -

First winter damage
happypalms replied to happypalms's topic in DISCUSSING PALM TREES WORLDWIDEThe soil originally came from an area near dog kennels (a puppy farmer) I was suspect at the start of receiving the soil by the smell of it. So gosh knows what kinda sour soil I got and what pathogens were in it. Having already had trouble in that part of the garden led me to think sour soil. Time will tell, I don’t think it’s Phytophera but whatever it is it’s not good! -

Patrick replied to DoomsDave's topic in DISCUSSING PALM TREES WORLDWIDEDave, I have 60 3 year old Sabal miamiensis seedlings in bands on the side yard like the trashy elitist east coast trash that they are, waiting to get sold on ebay. I just have to list them first. Major catch-22. I have about 80 dypsis onilahensis seedlings in a community pot that probably should have been out of a community pot like a year ago....- Cold Hardy Inge Hoffman Archontophoenix cunninghamia seeds
Patrick replied to Patrick's topic in For SaleThanks for your interest 94Z! I have your padded envelope prepared and I'll have it in the mail on Monday or Tuesday. Thanks for reaching out.- Chambeyronia oliviformis seedling
Jayce replied to Jayce's topic in DISCUSSING PALM TREES WORLDWIDEThanks Richard and Harry. I've placed it in my warm shadehouse so will see and hope she recovers. 🤞- C debaoensis x (C tropophylla x C mitcholitzi) F2
Gallop posted a topic in For SaleCycas debaoensis was pollinated with C tropophylla x C mitcholitzi to create this hybrid. I grew out several plants and chose a unique pair for breeding. Father has a nice plumose leaf and mother has a unique metallic green / blue leaf. Leaves can be undulated (ruffled) tripinnate (or sometimes bi-pinnate). These are 2026 1 leaf seedlings with a soild root system. Plants are ready to push a new leaf. Shipped in pot UPS 3 day select. $30 ea shipping $18 paypal accepted Pictures of parent plants and seedlings available.- To hybridize or not
quaman58 replied to Tracy's topic in DISCUSSING PALM TREES WORLDWIDENice experiment regardless Tracy.. It just adds to the collective knowledge. I tried crossing a male Chamaedorea woodsoniana with a female tepilijote last year, thinking it would be a slam dunk. Nature had other ideas, not one seed. Later on, I got him together with a woodsoniana girl next door and.. hundreds of seeds. I can live with that..- Yesterday

happypalms replied to realarch's topic in DISCUSSING PALM TREES WORLDWIDE50/50 on that one @Jonathan you could grow kiwi fruit, but as for coconuts. I think you should try at least just to show us your refrigerator grow skills!- Iriartea deltoidea
happypalms replied to realarch's topic in DISCUSSING PALM TREES WORLDWIDEHere’s the duo of both varieties, slow in my climate, water lovers and Iam surprised they have taken temperatures as low as 2 degrees celcius. Both varieties planted in the ground and rostrata seems to be wining the race in growing the best.midnight rider joined the community- Iriartea deltoidea

Chester B replied to Chester B's topic in WEATHER / CLIMATEI didn't have any stormy weather at my house yesterday but it did start to rain around 4:30 and continued for at least 2 hours. It was light steady rain, the kind that really soaks in. The closest county rain gauge read 0.5". This is my 3rd summer here and the first that I'm getting rain, its really awesome.- How Bout a 'Color' thread?

realarch replied to realarch's topic in DISCUSSING PALM TREES WORLDWIDEHey Brad, you might give it another go. Mine burned literally for years before acclimating to its full sun location. I should have took the hint that in habit it lives its young life on the forest floor in considerable shade. Well, now it’s a neck breaker. I need to post an updated photo, it will give me something to do. Tim- How Bout a 'Color' thread?

piping plovers replied to Matt in SD's topic in TROPICAL LOOKING PLANTS - Other Than PalmsBrassia Edvah Loo 'Nishida’. These take up so much room in the house. I have three of them. In the winter, I always want to throw them out. But when they bloom, I love them all over again.- Albino sprouts
rick replied to rick's topic in DISCUSSING PALM TREES WORLDWIDEI figured they were probably doomed but I'll hang on to them for now. I've seen other types of plants that start white and green up over time so I was wondering if anyone had seen it happen with these.- Lotta palms for little money
JohnAndSancho replied to aztropic's topic in DISCUSSING PALM TREES WORLDWIDEThis is exactly why i kinda veered away from palms. There's not a huge demand here, and what will live here takes forever to grow. I figured I'd sell banana pups and colocssias etc locally and keep some stuff for mail order. And i also make sure i have stuff nobody else has. Lol my banana pups seem to grow too big to ahip@happypalms. The fun part is when i buy bulbs, i usually dont know what I've got until they sprout. I've had the worst luck with caladiums. - Seeds that are lawwwng ovah-due for planting.
