I have not posted these pictures here before so I thought I would share them. Last June a clump of the multi-heads fell to the ground (pic1). Note the roots in pic2, for fun I potted the clump in a large pot. Pictures 3 & 4 shows as it looks now.

Dave's topic on the Scorps breaking up caused me to break out some of my old lps (yep, lps) and to do some searching on youtube for old rock favorites. Everyone has a different opinion on what heavy metal, hair, arena rock really stands for. Here are a few of the songs that come to mind when I think of this genre. Peter, here's another photo of B. armata in San Diego. These were stunning palms which appear to be about 10' apart. I'm assuming the owners had problems with keeping the walk clean during the bloom as they had them removed after a few weeks. There is a practical aspect as to where they are planted as well. Tim

Peter, Brahea amata is a spectacular palm for those who can grow it well. Beautiful glaucous leaves and the inflorecense has got to be one of the most spectacular of any palm species. The downside is that it is a slow grower (not good for those who don't have patience)and doesn't seem to like the very all-year-wet tropical climates. I had to have one even tho' I'm in tropical Hawaii. However, I'm on the Kona side of the Big Island and we do have a sunnier and drier climate than Windward (Hilo side) of the island. True, our humidity is higher than what this palm likely prefers but it is growing and looks decently well but here it grows much slower than say in California. Its height and width currently measures 1.2m (4 ft.). Here it is . . .

Actually fertilizing when they are in shock just makes it worse in my humble opinion.I would just make sure it stays as warm as you can and maybe some Hydrogen peroxide in the crown might not hurt.Your palm looks bad I hate to say but it could come back.
