UPDATE: MASKS NO LONGER REQUIRED OUTDOORS FOR FULLY VACCINATED PERSONS. Under the provisions of California's June 15, 2021 Covid Update, new guidelines for mask wearing the "mask mandate" in previous communications is superseded: 1. There will be a SFPS general meeting on Monday, October 1, at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden (FTBG). FTBG is located at 10901 Old Cutler Road, Coral Gables, FL. April's BPACS outing is to the Tamborine Mountain Botanic Gardens, Forsythia Drive (off Long Road), Tamborine MountainPlease note that due to recent flooding and bridge washout, the main road from Oxenford to Mt Tamborine is currently closed. There is a detour in place via Reserve Road, Upper Coomera. Alternatively you can go via the Cedar Creek or Nerang-Canungra routes...all are scenic drives so make for an enjoyable trip.We will gather in the car park at 10:00am on Sunday 23/04/17 and then walk the gardens, which contain a diverse collection of plants, along with some nice stands of palms. Our annual Picnic & Giant Plant Auction will be held on Saturday June 8 this year. Terry & Ruth Lynch are allowing us to have the picnic in their Fabulous garden at 2802 Lake Osborne Dr., Lake Worth. The time will be 8 AM to 2 PM. All members and anyone else that would like to attend are welcome. Please bring Pot Luck covered dish and any kind of plants for the auction. I just created a new web site for the Louisiana Palm and Cycad Society. See my signature below. I have no experience so I used Go Daddy's web site for dummies and voila! My home computer is still out, but my computer guru has extracted the virus and I will get it back better than ever tomorrow. Then I will be able to add pictures and make a few other planned updates to the web site. Please check it out and provide feedback!

Garden of Nick Craig, ex BPACS President 10:00am start Instructions: * Head to Caboolture. * Get on the D'Aguilar Hwy headed west to Kilcoy/Woodford. * After the turnoff the Bruce Hwy its about 20 ks * After passing through Wamuran its about 10 min. * You pass the Bracalba Quarry and head up the range. * At the top you take the next left...Mc Leod Lane. * Signs will be up...about 1 k along a narrow 2way road, you will turn right then sharp left into my place.
