Howea belmoreana
by Darold Petty- 7 replies
- 2.1k views
I wish to purchase a large plant of Howea belmoreana, anywhere in California. It should be at least 6 inches in diameter at the soil line and in a container. I don't care if it is sun or shade grown, as it would be installed in a shady area with overhead canopy. This species is variable in the degree of frond recurvedness, I want the extreme 'fishhook' look. I would also consider a transpanted palm dug out of your garden for a lower price than a container plant. (Here is your chance for the space for one more kinky, rare Dypsis ! ) I will also pay a finder's fee to a person who can connect me with a third person with the palm. I have already contacted 10 or …

I've started a palm garden on the Pine View School school campus (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pine_View_School) here is Sarasota. A couple of areas have been designated for it so far and I'm hoping that we can expand in the future. The school grounds are accessible to the public on weekends. At this point I donated Sabal causiarum, S. mauritiiformis, S. uresana, Syagrus botryophora, S. cearensis, Livistona mariae subsp. rigida, Ptychosperma caryotoides and Attalea cohune and Ptychosperma waitianum that haven't been planted yet; and Keith (Zeeth) has donated Syagrus amara, Kentiopsis oliviformis, Jubaeopsis caffra, and a dwarf Coconut that hasn't been planted yet. Desperately searching for Pandanus utilis!
by JenRiot321- 5 replies

Hello! Been a longtime lurker and my desperation to get this plant has led me to finally make an account! I’m looking for a smaller sized tree, anything from maybe 5 gal to a large seedling size. I have reached the end of the internet trying to get one to me here in San Diego and have still had zero luck. You know when you get obsessed with that “one” plant and need it more than any other? Pandanus utilis has become that one for me. Not sure why it’s been such a long, fruitless search, but anyone who might be able to help me out would be soooo appreciated! Willing to pay cash or trade for any number of the rare plants I have. Please message me! …
