I'm finishing my landscape plan, and have a spot for a decently-sized Coccothrinax crinita ("Old Man Palm"). And here is what I was able to find locally... The more I think about it, the more I want to "cheat" and have a large one shipped to me (most likely from Florida). Seems like they're plentiful and (relatively) affordable there. Anyone willing to pick one up and ship to me in California (marked up by however much would make it worth your time)? Examples of the size I'd love to find... or... I understand it would cost more than these... just giving some sizing reference for the size I'm hoping for. Perhaps someone on here has one th…

I've started a palm garden on the Pine View School school campus (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pine_View_School) here is Sarasota. A couple of areas have been designated for it so far and I'm hoping that we can expand in the future. The school grounds are accessible to the public on weekends. At this point I donated Sabal causiarum, S. mauritiiformis, S. uresana, Syagrus botryophora, S. cearensis, Livistona mariae subsp. rigida, Ptychosperma caryotoides and Attalea cohune and Ptychosperma waitianum that haven't been planted yet; and Keith (Zeeth) has donated Syagrus amara, Kentiopsis oliviformis, Jubaeopsis caffra, and a dwarf Coconut that hasn't been planted yet. Roystonea violacea (Purple Royal Palm) and/or roystonea borinquena (Puerto Rico Royal Palm) wanted

Hey y'all I'm kinda desperately (haha), searching for seeds of either of these species of Royals. It's almost impossible it seems to find anyone selling either, Purple Royal Palm especially. Seeds seedlings anything tbh. I have checked all the usual suspects for seeds RPS in particular, and I've scoured online in just in general for upwards of a week now. It seems they come and go from RPS depending on time of year, but currently nothing to be found anywhere it seems. If anyone has either species, or knows where to find either I'd be very grateful. Thank you so much in advance. I'm a new user I've been reading various threads on here for quite some time before just …

As the title states, Anyone with spare Brahea ‘Frankenbrahea’ seeds, seedlings, or small palms for sale? Thanks

Hey Everyone. Why are these three specimens so hard to find around Orange and Lake County Florida. I am hunting for a few larger 8-12' double or triple Archontophoenix Alexandrae, Archonphoenix Cunninghamiana and so far in all my hunting the only thing I have found so far was one single Archontophoenix Alexandrae and that was at Traveling Trees Garden Center in Clermont and it was only about 4' tall. I would also love to find a 4-6' Archontophoenix purpurea. I reached out to MB Palms today via email, but reading here that he really doesn't like to work with the public, and I just missed his open house this weekend as I was out of town until late…

Hello fellow PalmTalkers, I am based in the UK and there has been some excitement recently about Aloe 'Hercules' plants surviving our winters with a little protection. It certainly seems that this hybrid is pretty hardy and will grow even without high summer temps. Unfortunately there is no source of plants in the UK or Europe but I will be in Florida next week and California in April so I was wondering if any of you either have small plants I could buy or know of a source of small plants. From what I understand, it's pretty tough to grow from cuttings - but if any members were able to give me some cutting material I would gladly give that a try! I've seen that …

Hi everyone, I have tried many, many times purchasing seeds of these two plants on eBay and various online seed retailers but have had 0% germination. I think with the Ficus it's probably a case of non-viable seeds as I've germinated other species of Ficus with no problem. I understand these figs need a specific wasp to pollinate them. Does anyone know of a reliable source of viable seed? With the Philodendron, I'm not aware of a particular insect needed for pollination so perhaps I've just been supplied with old, unviable seed on previous occasions. Has anyone had experience growing this plant from seed and what was your source? Will happily pay for seed and…
