I just got back from my holidays and was pleasantly surprised to find quite a few seeds had germinated while I was away! I’m guessing the summer heat we’ve had over the past couple of weeks gave them the final push they needed. Among the surprises were Howea Belmoreana, Jubaea × Butia F2, Trachycarpus Princeps × Ukhrulensis, and a few others. During my holiday I also came acros Jubaea × Syagrus. Such an impressive hybrid!

.15" from the can't miss blob that headed south so I'm definitely selling. Still waiting for this summer's first 2-3" deluge that drenches everything.

Its a promising new hybrid from Victor, but I suspect that it will be less hardy than the other hybrids I have already. Please keep sending updates over time, I will follow with interest.

Hopefully this will clear the overhead utility lines. These get mercilessly butchered if they don't.

Many flowers over the years. First time I’ve seen seeds. Will see if they turn out viable. 20’ish years old from a 20 gallon. Dana Point, CA

You’ve inspired me to get a layer of mulch in my garden. I’ve tilled about 4 yards of food soils in and around the plants. Now to hold all that moisture in!

The first Chamaedorea radicalis in Italy were made by a friend of mine with the seeds of Inge Hoffman who managed the seed bank, she collected them in Dick Douglas' garden
  23. gyuseppe
No Harry, the underside of the leaves is not silver, trust me, it's a hybrid I've been growing Chamaedorea radicalis since the late 80s.

I am a firm believer in “blanketing “ the ground . It really makes a difference . After so many years the decomposition feeds the top soil and eventually leaches down deeper . Right now we are experiencing a prolonged hot spell with little end in sight and the mulch helps insulate the ground . Harry I use bags of wood chips around the garden . As dry as the top looks , it is plenty damp underneath . This little seedling was able to push up through and stay cool enough to thrive. You can see the older discolored mulch under the more fresh chips on top . I just keep adding fresh ! Harry

I have two clumps that have still green fruit. One in almost full shade , the other gets way too much sun this time of year. This one is in a pot on the side of the house under a large C. Tepejelote This one in the courtyard where it gets afternoon sun this time of year , so it burns . I’m too lazy to move it! I am growing a Wodyetia near it to eventually provide a bit of shade. Harry

Are the undersides of the leaf silvery ? My C. Radicalis vary from plant to plant . Most are pretty predictable , but they can be different. Harry

Someone here would like to see how and, here you are satisfied, I didn't breed it and it was born on its own, on the 2nd leaf I saw that it was different from a normal radicalis
