This year has been good....so far. Once we get past hurricane season then I can chill. Planted a few more pams this summer,(getting harder and harder to find new species, that I need or want), but I did plant Licuala fordii (3), Dypsis mananjarensis 6-7', Burretiokentia vieillardii and B. kohgiensis both 3 gallon, a really nice Licuala paludosa 5' showing nice orange, Dypsis paludosa 4' that I threw in the full sun as a test, and yes, it burned pretty good but might make it. Also a Cyphophoenix elegans 3-4'. probably a few more that escape my memory for now. Planted probably more than 50 more crotons, many new, many as duplicates as well. These sure add color to the canvas. A couple of rare flowering trees as well.
I just started a new project for an area off to the side of our pool and bedroom window. I am putting in 4 6"x6" x12' wood post to anchor a swing that I can use as I grow old. It will have a vine growing up on it. And Andrea will then lay flagstone rock as a flooring underneath it. I'm thinking I will plant in this area one of my largest Cyrtostachys sp. Hybrid. It will plant out at approx. 9-10'. I also have an old Phoenix roebelenii var. reasoneri that originates in Laos. It's the clumping form of P. roebelenii.
