  4. The pictures in this thread are truly amazing and all, but I have to be honest...my all time favorite coconut has to be... Tolerates freezing temperatures, no lethal yellowing, and gives an authentic taste of the tropics...

  5. I bet Len is right and that root ball is bone dry and repelling water. Especially if you planted it deep and put the grass mat back on top of it.

  6. John, those are nice looking Pinanga's, good size too. Here are a few pics of P. maculate, at least that was what I acquired them as. Good growers and really colorful. I think mine get a tad too much sun, but none the less are still pretty nice. The leaf is a dark green with visible mottling. Would probably be more pronounced if they were in more shade. A few adventitious, but no stilt roots. The larger one has been in the ground almost 3 years and the other about 2.
