I'm with you Jason , I did a double check on the location through a Google search to verify the location was Brazil . You know, like S. Amer Brazil. Didn't know it snowed there. This is another reason I've always been fascinated by geographical locations on world maps.

Here is my Rupie in the desert. And here's my Rupie/Roebellenii X From my experience, pure Rupicolas are slow. The Rupie/Robi X's take on the characteristics of Rupicola, and grow exponentially compared to either of their pure species.

a few other local specimens.... at Disney's Animal Kingdom lodge out by the big lagoon pool at EPCOT in Morocco, the constriction in the trunk was a result of the severe freeze in 12/89 so its really grown since then at Disney's Magic Kingdom, across from the Pirates of the Caribbean

I have a few Arenga aroud my hot tub that really show off a silver color on the back side of the fronds with the light from the tiki torches. After seeing your lights I am going to install some on my palms in the front yard also.

I love outdoor lighting! They help you see the garden at night specially when it dark earler in winter and get you outside more to enjoy the garden in summer. Looks great what you've done. I like the way if make palm shadow on your house too. I have a few I need to replace the light bulbs, but that will come next month or so.
