Just spent the last couple days in Las Vegas and snapped a couple pics. This house's curb appeal/landscaping was insane... He had tiki torches on switches, waterfalls, etc etc... This is so MONEY! Driveway Front Gates...

Thinking my canary date palm may have a disease but I can't determine what it is? Brown fuzzy growth between fronds on buth sides. Affects lowermost fronds the most but newer fronds also have visible browning. Please help identify and treat.

I managed to adopt a nice cat, and he's friendly, likes to sit on your lap, etc. I'm open to ideas for a name . . .

Sorry but the car in your second post is a replica of an AC Cobra, not an early Corvette.

I'll stick with the old saying, "you can't polish a turd". The water tower is a good one! Keep them structural and don't mess with mother nature on any count, I say.

I would dig them both out and throw them back into pots in the shade with plenty of water. If anything,it appears to be lack of water and desert soil that is keeping them yellow. By the way,how is your Pseudophoenix coming along? aztropic

Looked up texas phoneix and I don't think it is that. Its still seeding and speartip is healthy...Scott, are u sure it could be insects? The blades of the fronds are kinda stuck together in the dead spots with a furry fuzzy red brown growth as apparent in the second pic. If insects what should I treat with? The furry fuzzy is the waste of the insect. Get a good sprayer (hose end for large palms) I use Ortho "Fire Ant Killer' mixed in water and spray the leaves for instant controll. I have found a product that you apply to the root area of the palm and it controlls for 6 months. I will get you the name of the product ( I can not remember at this time) I think it is a Bayers product.i

I notice a few of the leaves are partly green - therefore presume the leaf was green and it turned yellow. If so, it may be a nitrogen deficiency. Are you using organic compost?

Las Vegas only gets about 4 inches of rainfall a year, that's just over 4 cm. So yes, it is a very arid region. Humidity in the summer many times is in the single digits.

He looks happy in your electric jungle, Dave! I was curious about his markings, so I looked around, and discovered (you may already know) that he is part California Spangled Cat and part pure white perhaps? Here is a photo of the aforementioned, and highlighted in your photo, the signature marking on the side of his face. Maybe call him Spangles?
