Madonna's sense of self-importance. Or, choose one. This Ravenea rivularis is near downtown Brea, or at least what used to be downtown Brea before it got Eminent Domained into destruction. . . . There are larger ones, down near South Coast Plaza, but this is the biggest one I've ever seen in someone's yard. Bet it dates back from when Majesties first hit these virgin shores . . .

This is a BIG Dracena Draco, and it's more or less around the corner from you-know-who's house. Note the cars for scale. I know it's not the biggest -- that one in Coronado is bigger, not even thinking about the uber giant in the Canaries, but it's one of the biggest I've seen. Got one bigger?

Took this pic of a Coco-de-Mer over the weekend . Heard that a few more are growing around the north . Darwin has a few pictured on PACSOA . Are there any growing in Rat PAck country ? Had a lightning trip around part of another sensational large garden hidden in Whyanbeel Valley. FERP report coming soon .

seen a few that large around, but seen bigger in public gardens (see below)... first one from Huntington.. .rest from Santa Barbara... third photo shows a really tall, old one above other trees that are all about the size of Octomom's tree. Last photo is from below one of those 'smaller' trees

No, that is easily the largest one I have seen in California. I saw a larger, even fatter one, in Hawaii growing in someones yard right out of their stream, but it was too hard to photograph. Here are a few I have seen in my neighborhood in the valley near Los Angeles, and a couple from parks

That's huge - about 3x taller than my largest. I think I have one of the tallest majesties in Cape Coral. That's because I feed and water it generously and no one else does. They look pretty scroungy when neglected. Ravenea rivularis: 2/10

That is neat to have that kind of background on that beauty. It must be satisfying to know that the offspring of your palms have been spread over the entire world and a good percentage of the members here, have one or more growing in their garden. Pretty cool. I think I have the latest picture taken, so here she is in all her glory

Another Hyphaene this one I think is coriacea but not sure. This is located in Jardin Botanico La Habana but there was only this plant which is a female and no males. But it did have fertile seeds on it. There is a stand of Latania lodiggesi near by though. hum

A Hyphaene sp. No one was sure what it was its either compressa or thebiaca. Unfortunately there were only male plants at this garden. This was planted in 1905. Very cool palm
