Caryota no
by Chris Chance- 3 replies

I have this 15 gallon Caryota no. It's a little beat up but starting to grow well. I don't have room for it and probably won't do well in my area. If anyone is interested and can make a drive to Moreno Valley CA it's yours. I would like to see it in a good home and even had snow on it at one point so it deserves it.

I have a friend in Dana Point, Ca., that will be having what I think is a sabal removed because it will start blocking view (I am clueless on the species). If you want to dig it you can have it. I estimate a three foot tall thick trunk with another three -four ft tall leaves. PM if interested. Here are a couple of pics (Sorry for the bad shots):

Free Chamaerops 'glauca' seeds

I have gathered two loaded fruit stalks. Fruits are quite small and it is a trouble for someone to clean off the flesh around the seeds. So I won't bother doing this job. This should be taken in to consideration by people outside the EU, who wish seeds, as there is always the risk of consfication at the import gate. Pm me if you are interested.

Mature Brahea edulis
by Jason S.- 3 replies
I have a neighbor who needs to have 2 mature Brahea edulis removed from his property because they are impacting his sewer line. The house is located in University City, 92122. If anyone knows of someone who has the ability to excavate and relocate them to a good home that will care for them that would be great. I would take them myself, but they are large and will likely require a crane. Thanks.

Extra Germinated Seeds (Phoenix dactylifera 'Ajwa')
by GoatLockerGuns- 3 replies

I have a ton of extra germinated Phoenix dactylifera 'Ajwa' seeds to give away. Darn near 100% germination showing through the baggie. These were personally sourced from dates that I ate. If anyone is not familiar with the "Ajwa" varietal, they are from Saudi Arabia (Medina I believe), and are smaller and much darker than the typical 'Medjool' or 'Delget Noor' varietals you usually see in stores. They are also addictively delicious. I got these from a local Middle Eastern food store here in San Antonio. I have attached a picture comparing the 'Ajwa' seeds with seeds from other varietals. I understand that since Phoenix dactylifera are heterozygous, the offspring pl…

I'm "down-sizing" my plant collection and have a few things I've decided not to plant that I'd like to give to other plant enthusiasts/collectors -- most of these would benefit from being re-potted (or just planted) and/or need some TLC/fertilizer. For pick-up only...(in Sarasota) 6" pot & 1 gal. - Chamaedorea klotzschiana 1 gal. Chamaedorea seifrizii (bamboo palm) 1 gal. Dypsis baronii 1 gal. Dypsis lutescens (areca palm) 1 gal. Dypsis ssp. (trangle palm hybrid?) 1 gal. Gaussia princeps 1 gal. Phoenix sylvestris 3 gal. Walachia disticha 1 gal. "mystery palm"-- probably Sabal sp. (found growing as a recruit in another palm pot) 7 gal. I don't know if anyone living in a hotter country is interested in getting this Licuala Ramsayi and Licuala Peltata var. Sumawongii for free except you'd have to pay for shipping. As you can see here, the have not been doing well lately, and the only thing I think might help is planting them in the ground. Otherwise I'll have to throw them out..

Archontophoenix sp. seeds
by quaman58- 3 replies

Hi all, I have a limited number of seeds from a palm in my yard. It was purchased years ago at a big box store as “tropical foliage”. I assumed it was cunninghamiana, but it developed some whitish coloring under the leaves. Bottom line is that it is the most attractive palm year in, year out in the garden, regardless of time of year. Robust trunk and large open canopy. A beautiful palm, if the seed remains true to the parent. Local pickup preferred.

A. cunninghamiana 'Inga Hoffman' seeds
by Patrick- 3 replies

I have about 180 of these that I'll send out in small packets. These were mostly ripe but the squirrel just discovered the fruit this afternoon after I pulled a batch of seeds this morning. So, off they all came. PM me and I'll see what I can do. If you wanted to repay me postage, that's cool, but if not then no worries. What makes these special is that they ought to be somewhat cold hardy. The parent tree made it through the '89 freeze out here in California and Castro Valley (where said parent is located) saw probably low 20's. Not sure of the number but the data is out there if you are inclined to look it up. There are 4 people I've already sp…

3 Sabal Palmetto - Non-Lisa Lisas
by Josue Diaz- 3 replies

I have three Sabal palmetto Lisas that are not showing the Lisa trait (fused leaflets). I don't want to dig and ship these, but if anyone is in the Fresno area and would like to dig them up and take them they are free to a good home. They'll make nice, standard Sabal palmettos. Once they get too big, I'll likely dig and dispose of them. Josue
