Licuala Grandis seedby Kumar- 5 replies
- 3.1k views
G'morning everyone. I met today, on my morning walk, an old Parsi gentleman (Parsis are Zoroastrians - a very ancient religous faith, originating in Persia) who lives in my neighbourhood. We were discussing plants in general and he mentioned he had a large garden and invited me for a visit and a cup of tea. He had all the usual palms but of interest were some fruiting Licuala Grandis and two Livistonas I could not identify but which I suspect from the large inflorescence and spherical fruit is L. mariae (photos will be put up tomorrow). I collected some seed of these two and I can send out two packets of ten each to anyone who has interest.

Free Dypsis lanceolata seeds - mailed worldwide! 1 2by DoomsDave- 4 followers
- 40 replies
As he noted in his thread, Mike Wardlow was nice enough to give me his whole crop of Dypsis lanceolata seeds, and I took them home. Some I'll sprout and use as PSSC meeting party favors; others I'll mail to you if you send me a PM (Private message) with your mailing address and "Free Dypsis lanceolata seed" in the message. I've gotten seeds from Mike before and they generally germinate quite fast. They don't keep long, so I'm planning on giving everything away. Stored seed from a while back hasn't grown nearly as well as it did when fresh. This is a smaller Dypsis, a bit on the skinny side, marginal away from the beach, but should also be a nice house plant…

Manihot grahamii large cuttingsby MattyB- 3 replies
- 3k views
I planted a M. grahamii for some temporary canopy and now I'm either cutting it down or maybe I'll pollard it and leave it for another year. Anyway, I have some nice branches, several feet long, that will take easily if anyone wants to give this tree a try. They are fast growing, trouble free, and the display of bees pollinating the flowers in summer is the most amazing I've ever seen. Give me a call or come on by and you can have as many cuttings as you want. 6192067782

Free Mango Seeds - Alphonsoby Kumar- 2 replies
- 3k views
Mango season has started in full swing and occasionally I buy some of these outrageously priced Alphonso mangos - of which a great deal of hype is made each year. These (the mangos and the hype) are mostly exported but in case you have heard about this variety but don't have or can't get any seed, let me know. I have dried a half-dozen seeds and can give these away. As always, not recommended for fruit production. Just in case however, the fruit is yellow and almost fibre-free and the tree is much smaller than our Bengal varieties - tends to branch a lot more too.

If you are interested please contact me. Thanks Patrick Here are the pictures I have and there are two greenhouses:

Howdyall: TIme to break in the Freebie Forum! I've still got a few Sabal minor seeds left, and some of you have already sent me information with your name and mailing addresses. PM me your name, mailing address, and I'll send you a free envelope with seeds in it. My plant is a trunkless type, which will probably be hardier than the trunked types. I've sent seeds all over the world, including Alabama, Texas, Florida, Croatia, England, Poland, Germany, Holland, France, Belgium, India and Indonesia. They're small seeds, so quite a number will fit in an envelope. dave

My dear friends - I have just returned to bombay after my thailand trip. (I will be writing on that soon) On my journey there I stopped briefly at calcutta where as per my instruction the caretaker of our santiniketan country home had kept for me a fruiting branch from each of the two phoenix sylvestris that grow there (and may soon be cut down I may add). Their fertility is beyond question and the trees are one very robust and dangerous, the other not so. You will find photos of one in my old discussion titled 'Sights of Bolpur' under Tropical Plants. Anyway, after cleaning the lot and discarding the rotten ones, hollow ones, etc. I am left with some sixty from each tree…

Black Sphinx Date Palms Seedsby _Keith- 18 replies

20 each free to first 4 takers. Already committed 20 or so to member in Croatia. So, if you research Black Sphinx, it is either a mutant or a sport, so who knows what you'll get from the seed, if anything. My poor seed skills are known the planet over. Anyway, first 4 to speak up on this thread will get them for free. If you are not satisfied, I will refund your money.

RIP RAP -- Broken up concreteby DoomsDave- 2 replies
- 2.7k views
Howydall: I'm engaging in a renovation of Shangri-La Habra, which includes the removal of concrete walks, etc. The inevitable byproduct is lots of chunks of concrete. I could leave them for the garbage people, who in turn will dump them in a landfill, and the land will get too full. If you have a use for this let me know. It's heavy, you'll need a pick up, but I will, of course, be happy to help load it, and, if you like give a tour of the garden . . . . SHOOT ME A PM!

So I took a whole batch off a florida sabal and threw a few hundered seeds in pots. They are now pushing the 2nd leaflet and I've repotted as many as I need. The rest I would like to send out in return for the generous gifts I've recieved from members here. The only catch is I have not done this before and don't know the best way to remove from the community pot or package for shipping. So they may or may not make it So if your interested I'll do my best and send these out in batches of 10 or so. Just send me your info. If you have anything to send in return thats cool too

Hello everyone! I have sold my home and must move my Ptychosperma propinquum before Saturday, June 2. It is located in Port Charlotte, Florida. I have already left the house and the new owners are allowing me to return to get this palm before they move in. It is stunning and has already been trimmed back for moving. I have added photos of it before it was trimmed and some after. This is a rare palm especially for this area. It has been growing beside my 'former' home next to a large bottle brush tree. This blocked it from the wind, except for the part that was higher than the house. During the cold spouts I would wrap it with a piece of carpet and plastic a…

I have three spinulosums that need to go. Two are kinda large and need to be dug up. They're about 4-5 feet tall, so they could be easily had with a shovel. The third is in a pot. I also have a sago sp in a 3gal. pot. Plus I have a nice size Zamia furfuracea in the ground. Just send me a message if you're interested. They are all free!!! They're located in Jupiter Farms...

Free seed - Brahea edulis -guadelupeby palms2plant- 6 replies

I was cleaning my gaudelupes today and instead of throwing all the seed away I thought why not offer it to anyone who wants to send a PM to arrange to receive some. They germinate fairly easily but the sprouts die off if not cared for so it is not a pest. In fact they have real value. This is a US mainland offer so I am sure no agriculture rules are a problem. A fairly common fan palm but not one of the pests like Washingtonia. This is a nice looking fan palm without thorns or spikes. A very hardy palm of moderate growth rate and low water needs. It is pretty much self cleaning but needs a little help to stay tidy year round. The tree grows sheets of fiber matt between…
