I have a small pack of 11 fresh Chamaedorea plumosa seeds (this specific one out of the bunch looks a bit odd, with tomentose petioles) . I'll mail them anywhere in the US. First to claim will get them. Germination/viability is untested on these.

Yucca filifera 3 available local pickup
by Patrick- 1 reply

I have 3 poor, poor Yucca Filiferas that I will never find a place for. If you want one, or all, they're yours. They've been in these pots for several years they must be part cockroach because I think they are so resilient that they could survive a nuclear war. I'm going to take a line from @Darold Petty and request a few high quality IPA's to be enjoyed onsite whether you split them with me or I drink them all, it's all good either way. And no beers are actually needed for this transaction to take place. These poor old puppydogs need a forever home. Hopefully someone would be willing to take these off my hands. Local pickup.

A. cunninghamiana 'Inga Hoffman' seeds
by Patrick- 3 replies

I have about 180 of these that I'll send out in small packets. These were mostly ripe but the squirrel just discovered the fruit this afternoon after I pulled a batch of seeds this morning. So, off they all came. PM me and I'll see what I can do. If you wanted to repay me postage, that's cool, but if not then no worries. What makes these special is that they ought to be somewhat cold hardy. The parent tree made it through the '89 freeze out here in California and Castro Valley (where said parent is located) saw probably low 20's. Not sure of the number but the data is out there if you are inclined to look it up. There are 4 people I've already sp…

The palm below has been in my garden since about 2004, when I got it as a 15 gallon. It's now about 10 feet tall. This is a great species for those PalmTalkers who must contend with heat and cold. It's native to Argentina, where it experiences both. If you're in the Mediterranean region in Europe, England, maybe even Holland, these are worth a try in the ground. Likewise in the Southeastern US where a lot of cool palms are marginal; South Carolina, and southern Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Northern Florida. Try them in West Texas, Arizona. They will take cool, too, in British Columbia, northern California, coastal Oregon and Washington. And, anyw…

I rescued this palm yesterday, July 10th, from a defunct palm garden in Palo Alto, CA. I don't wish to keep this palm for myself and, in fact, I don't have room for it in my congested, tiny garden, even to hold for an eventual transfer. Please come take this palm away ASAP. I can even offer a suitable large pot if you wish to hold it for some time before ground planting. It is quite a nice young pam, the trunk is about 6 inches diameter by 12 inches tall. Un-potted, as it is now, it will easily fit in any vehicle. and you can pot it up at your place. So...please come get this palm right now, "get this palm, "way down there, off Navy property" Bonus poi…

Rhopalostylis sapida "Chatham Island'
by Darold Petty- 4 replies

When I was a beginner, (a long time ago) senior palm people were most generous, with both their time and plants. Now it is my turn to 'play it forward.' This palm is the seed offspring of my large adult, it is perfectly grown in a Stuewe TP812 pot, it is six years old from seed, and needs to be ground planted. I would hope that this palm goes to a coastal garden rather than a hot, inland site like Walnut Creek or Concord. No shipping, you must come to my garden for this palm.

Full on mature specimen, I just don't have room for it Anybody interested will have to have some equip to pull it outta ground it's over ten ft tall. Let me reiterate, you dig it out... There's nothing important right there too so if you had a mini x and a bobcat to pop it out you'd have a specimen in a hours time

Air pots, no shipping
by Darold Petty- 5 replies

These were highly recommended, and are used by Kew Gardens. The only complaint is that the pot medium will dry out more quickly than a normal pot. I have five #5 and two #12 airpots, which cost me $140. No shipping, you must take delivery at my home, and a ' handling fee' of a microbrew dark ale or hazy IPA would be appreciated ! https://air-pot.com/garden/

Hey everyone. I am trying to get rid of a few palms as we go into winter. My wife says that they aren't coming back into the living room. I have a 3 year old coconut palm in a 25 gallon pot. Unfortunately the soil in the pot is lava sand so it is heavy! I also have 5 or 6 Adonidia merrillii in 3 gallon pots with normal potting soil. I also have many random small exotic palms in 1 gallon pots. Dypsis pembana, Dypsis lutescens, possibly a few others. These are neglected little palms but still hanging in there. Everything is free. I live in Angleton but can meet in Pearland, Crosby, and will be in Conroe next weekend. If interested let me know. If th…
