Also have a tall tree potted Howea f. that would love a good home....Oh!, and a couple pretty Archontophoenix from seeds collected in Balboa park, possibly alexandrae. Bret

Location: Redland Bay, QLD. You pick up. Free, without pot. It wants to go in the ground. I have a Caryota ochlandra to give away. It was purchased 4 or 5 months ago in a 200mm nursery pot, but is currently in a larger pot which I would like to keep, so you would need to remove it from the pot and have some way to protect the root ball while transporting it (wrap with tarpaulin, etc). I could provide a 300mm nursery pot to use for transport, unless the root system has grown much. It has been idle over winter, so the roots may not have grown too much. It was sun hardened when I got it, and has been in full sun 8+ hours per day. I have decided that this palm i…

Palms and Exotic Plants
by palm tree man- 2 replies

If anyone has an unwanted palm or just a cool plant that needs a good home I would be glad to give it space in the garden or in my greenhouse. If you have excess seeds I also have an area set up for germination. I just love plants and hate to see a good palm or plant go to waste. I don't have the means to move large palms long distances but I can arrange transportation in some cases. Thank you again and happy gardening.

Sabal palmetto 'filamentous' palms give away
by Matthew92- 2 followers

- 1.4k views
I've got quite a few Sabal palmettos I grew from seed off a tree with unusually stringy/filamentous leaves in Pensacola, FL. These sprouted in early 2017 and are now outgrowing their pots. I've run out of places to plant, and was thinking of selling, but I'd like to give them away to fellow palm enthusiasts who will appreciate them and provide updates/photos on their progress as they grow. I am very interested to see if they turn out to have the filamentous characteristics as the parent. Here's the thread where I originally commented on about this tree and the seeds I grew (Note: my comments are further down in the thread and are not pertaining to the tree for which …

I have this 15 gallon Caryota no. It's a little beat up but starting to grow well. I don't have room for it and probably won't do well in my area. If anyone is interested and can make a drive to Moreno Valley CA it's yours. I would like to see it in a good home and even had snow on it at one point so it deserves it.

Free Dypsis Madagascariensis in 20 Gallon Pot
by Hilo Jason- 3 replies
- 1.4k views
I am giving away this 20 gallon Dypsis Madagascariensis. The catch is that you must live in a better climate than I do. My low up (in the last 4 years of living here) until this last winter was 32, but usually in the upper 30s. This past winter I saw 28 and this palm got beat up bad. It was planted in the ground as a small 5 gallon, so it grows fast, but it just can't handle the winter here. I dug it up in April of this year, put it in this large pot and since it has pushed new growth on all 3 of the palms. There seems to be quite a bit of variety when it comes to Madagascariensis, and this is a sensitive one as I have others planted near it that do fine. …

Save this palm from tbe recycling bin. I don't have the time to rehabilitate this palm, the spear pulled probably because I planted it in too much shade. Some peroxide and full sun will bring it back.
