This seed lot came through RPS after the IPS Biennial in Colombia. I installed 7 plants in a tight grove. 2 were killed by disease, and 2 were killed by our new rescue dog we recently adopted from the shelter. Does anyone have spare plants of this palm ?? I have 3 remaining, but would prefer to have at least 2 more. I will pay serious money if you could sell a few to me, Thanks ! PS I will be as far south as Thousand Oaks, CA on the week-end of Oct. 18th if shipping would be problematic. https://www.rarepalmseeds.com/chamaedorea-linearis-choco-giant?search=Chamaedorea linearis

Frost-resistant palms for zone 7a

Hello everyone! I apologize in advance, I am writing via google translate. There was a desire to start cultivating or even popularizing palm trees in my region (Krasnodar, Russia). A small part along the coast belongs to zone 8b - palm trees grow there, but the rest of the territory is 6b-7b, where I am. The palm tree for our people is an alien plant, so few people try to grow them, there is even no need to talk about selection and hybrids. That is why I am writing here, since I cannot find suitable varieties in my region. But it seems to me that our climate is quite suitable for these plants. Caryota's
by BeyondTheGarden- 3 replies
If you ever have any species of Caryota seedlings popping up in your yard, I would love to purchase them from you if you can bare root and ship them up here. We are into cold weather here as of me writing this, but sub-freezing temps are seldom and predictable, and I can schedule around the weather. I grow lots of non-hardy seedlings indoors, but Caryota is one Genus that is hard for me to get ahold of up here. Thanks. Jesse

Im looking to find a service provider in the USA who can carry out a phytosanitary certification on third party plant rhizomes for a generous fee. I want to ship ginger rhizomes from the USA internationally, but they need to be treated with an fda/epa registered fungicide, insecticide and nematicide to comply with the import permit. Any referrals would be appreciated.
