6 acres of land and about 2.5 acres is taken by the garden. The garden is about 30 years old. Iam currently expanding the garden and renovating it along with doing the understory.

Nice photos , I really enjoy your virtual garden tours . My reprieve from our current weather condition. I am hoping our weeks long heat wave softens a bit so I can do a bit more time in our garden . It seems , by the time I get the watering done , it is just too hot and muggy to work. Some of our palms are starting to show signs of heat stress . The humidity , which we are not used to , is exhausting. The lack of “cool down” at night is very unusual for us. Thank you for the visual break. Harry

Heat is on thing iam used to, although it may be subtropical my climate, it can be unbearable in summer with temperatures reaching 42 degrees celcius and the humidity we get can be like the tropical climate.

As discussed before you can never really water enough with a hose, it just seems to keep everything alive in those conditions that you describe.

Spend all day watering in the heat and then do it again the next day.

I enjoy seeing the other gardens on palm talk, some real beautiful gardens out there in the world and some great gardeners as well. I learn a lot from seeing other gardens and talking with gardeners you learn even more about plants and gardening.

Won’t be long you will be in winter and cursing the cold weather damaging your new palms , the palm growers enemy hot and cold too much of it either way and the plants suffer.
