Possible variegated Mexican Fan Palm Seedlings?

Featured Replies

I was sprouting some Mexican fan palm seeds man they took 2 weeks or so to germinate but they growth so fast once they poke through 😭. No wonder they are considered a weed tree. Anyways is this variegated or just one weird leaf Nd it will revert to regular leaves after this one? I’m curious have any thoughts?

Close but no cigar, it’s light bleaching. I have it on my Johannesteijsmannia. When I first seen it I was not thinking variegated, and if it was variegated well the bank account would be a lot larger having variegated joeys that is for sure!

I once had a Howea seed germinate with a variegated frond ( light colored streaks running long ways to the leaf vs across ) . I was very excited until the next little frond turned out dark green🫤. Harry

Super bummer Harry your green leaf. I did find another variegated lytocarum weddlianum the other day in the greenhouse. So luck finds a way.

Ok cool! Well you learn something new everyday good to know. Man they grow fast already pushing out a second strap leaf lol but the first seeds i ever germinares were sabal minor (Took 2 months+ to sprout and around 5-6 months to get to second leaf…. And they were too low in the greenhouse dried up in the winter wind and died.. sad.
