A nice cool wet subtropical day in the garden

Featured Replies

A nice day for a bit of tidying up and some leaf mulching in the garden. With good rainfall about it’s time to get a bit of mulch on the ground.

Very nice ! I’m about to go out and water my palms . We have a bit of overcast sky this morning . It usually clears up by 10:30am or so this time of year . Near the coast it will be cloudy all day , most likely . It’s our inversion layer from our cold Pacific Ocean and the warming inland temps . We are far enough away from the beach to get a burn off by late morning . I think a lot of the palms like the extra humidity of a cool foggy morning . Your pics remind me of our early summer days here. Harry

Any amount of rain is a welcome change other than the hot days. The Australian bush needs the dewy mornings when its dry, it’s that little bit of moisture to help the stomata breath, and a few drops of water for the animals to get that drink for the especially when it’s really dry. I imagine your climate very similar to ours at the moment, I get a slight ocean influence on my property.
