With the introduction of the CRB I'm not buying any more palms.  It's enough of a battle to keep the one's I have alive.  

As they die I think I'm gonna replace w/some native plant.

You could plant small ones like Chamaedoreas or medium-small heavy clumping ones like Bactris, Pinanga or Ptychosperma.

That’s so sad you can’t even grow one of your loved palms. When I know how much we all love  to grow palms. They are such beautiful plants Mother Natures gift to the horticultural world. 
This is one reason our bio security is so strict, the crb is one example of bio security gone wrong with your government letting you down when you comply with the rules they don’t!

Not sure if they'd go after them if nothing else around.  Maybe in a year or two things will settle down.  At 83 I'm beyond major landscaping changes or adjustments to the physical area.

Coconut Rhinoceros Beetles (CRB) 

Hey Steve, have you lost any palms yet to the beetle? We’ve got our own nightmare beetle here in California. But the damage is sporadic, despite a large population of the effers. My point is that the stress of a “maybe” beetle attack doesn’t really align with the reality. At least in my area. Hate to see you throw in the towel prematurely. 😬

Hey Steve, I feel for you man, how deflating your situation must be. The anxiety on the outer islands is palpable nowadays as more disturbing updates keep being reported. I have no idea what the future portends for other island gardens, but we’ll see once the wave hits.

Two native pritchardiaʻs, and one Copernicia alba (26 years old) on itʻs way out.  Spending at least $1000 a year to keep whats here alive.

They have attacked all 5 of 6 Pritchardias, killed 2.  Attacked-->2 Royals, 6 Vetchia,  2 Licuala, 4 Phoenix, 3 Sabal, 1Copernicia, 1 Coccothrinax, and maybe some others I havenʻt noticed yet.

Very sad to hear.  The Pritchardias being so susceptible is especially concerning. 

That's sad. Good luck protecting your survivors. Darn Copyright Royalty Board.
