Hello ! I have multiple Copernicia seedlings (2/3 years old from seed)

I planted C alba directly in the ground as a seedling and it is growing much faster than the ones in pot.
My question is, isn’t better to plant them at early stage? When I pot them up the tap root is doing circles in the pot and i guess it’s not the best for them.

Thank you !

Could also be that copernicia alba is a faster growing copernicia.  Are that all copernicia alba seedlings that you have growing? In pots?

Also have macroglossa, fallaensis and ekmanii.
My thoughts were that the tap root is supposed to go deep, so a pot is always limited.

True. The only reason for growing seedlings in pots is convenience. No plant prefers a pot over the ground, unless the soil is no good. A seed that germinates in the ground will most likely do better than one that was transplanted into the same spot.
