Blue decipens

Really a magnificent palm. Stout, but not overly large, moderate grower, and good color especially after losing a leaf sheath. Prominent basal leaves on extraordinary long fronds add to the picture. Planted early 2012 from a 1 gallon.

Very unique palm and one of my favorite Dypsis/Chrysalidocarpus out there. I love the contrasting leaflet and trunk colors on yours. Also, that’s excellent growth!

Looks great!  Mine is a small one gallon now, and it grows well even small compared to many in the genus.  I'm hoping it can deal with Florida heat for a couple months in summer and the occasional dip below freezing in winter (extreme would be 24 or so). Doubt it will even look that stunning though!

Tim, Paul Latzias sent me those pictures above along with an C. ovobontsira sp. metallic the other week. I guessed they'd come from Hawaii, but had no idea they were yours. Really lovely palms.
