Have any of y'all used fabric grow bags as outdoor nursery pots before? The larger ones with the handles on them, almost a canvas like cloth... I found a pile of them from when my brother tried to do raised bed gardening a few years ago. I'm not in any immediate need of them, but just asking. I guess I could even bury them during the warmer months like RickyBobby did with the pots around his pool and then bring them inside when it gets cold, but my biggest concerns with them would be moisture loss and the fire ants. But from what y'all have told me, sprinkling Amdro won't harm the palms. I've still got a mountain of soda bottles that I don't want to end up in the landfill, but these are here too.

I’ve used them before and they are handy. Just one currently has a palm growing in it. A Hedescepe canterburyana.

Do you have any issues with moisture loss with the cloth? I suppose I could plant some vegetables and stuff in them for the time being since most of my palms are a good bit away from needing anything that large. I found some 1 gallon and 5 gallon ones in the storage shed.
