No one cares about your current yard temperature 🙃

That was a terrible storm.  The power was out for quite a while in some of the rural areas.

Charley, Frances, Ivan, and Jeanne

Ivan didn't hit us hard in the middle of the peninsula, but the other three did the trick.

What a crazy year.

My sister's house in Port St. Lucie was hit twice about a month apart. She was out of town for both of them, so I had to run up for each one (before and after) to secure & repair what I could and to take photos. I remember standing in the front yard a day before the second one (Jeanne) was due, looking at the debris and damage from Frances and being awestruck... staring into space... having no idea on what to do.

Jeanne was a fun one.  After getting slammed by Charley and Frances, the roof of the double-wide already had leaks and holes that had to be covered with a tarp.  I was sleeping when Jeanne blew through and woke up to water dripping on my forehead and the double-wide separated at the seam.

Ivan is what got me out of Pensacola. My mom had to come and get me since I had just wrecked my truck. My roommate at the time uhhh... Let's just say she wasn't very uhhh... Smart. Anyway, I called her after it was over and asked how the house looked. We lived in one of the sketchiest trailer parks in town surrounded by pine trees... Anyway she says "It's not bad at all. A pine tree snapped and went right through your bed but other than that everything is fine." Oh, cool. I stayed in Mississippi.

When Katrina blew through, we were in a single wide. All 4 corners of the roof peeled up, and every time a squall or a tornado came through (we had no way of knowing we had tornadoes until days later), the whole roof kinda flopped and shook like the comforter when you're making your bed. Neat.

Thinking about stuff like that happening during a storm is why I wear shoes to bed when a storm is coming... if I can't stay awake any more.
