I’m on vacation in Arizona right now and I noticed some seeds on a European Fan palm. How would I go about germinating them, and would they be dormant until I get back home (3 days)? Thanks.

Fear not the seeds as long as the mature at harvest they are not really going to deteriorate over the next 3 days.
To germinate them there’s a couple of techniques, the baggie method or a community pot would be best for your little science project. Get a 200mm container some coco coir perlite mix just slightly damp push your seeds in after cleaning the flesh of them, a depth of roughly the same size of the seed. Place plastic bag over the top and seal it up and place in a dry moderately 22 degrees place even a bit warmer. And wait until they germinate. Or the baggie method spagnum moss just slightly wet in a plastic bag sealed up just sitting in your greenhouse or a safe place even indoors in the kitchen.

They are easy to germinate, here in southern Italy, the seeds fall to the ground and germinate on their own
