I planted this guy last summer, and it survived the winter (Rhode Island, 7a) with full protection (insulated box, c9 lights). It looked great (much darker green) when I opened it in late April. 

Lately, it's been looking sad, kinda pale, weak, and frizzy.  We had some rainy weather with temperatures dropping to mid-forties overnight. Maybe that was a factor?

Any idea what's wrong and what I can do to help? Thank you,

    If the spear is OK, I wouldn't worry much.

    Oddly, protected palms will do this once there is enough warmth for growth to restart. To me, it looks a bit dessicated, also common if you heat them over the winter.

    Definitely delayed damage from winter. Palms will look really good coming out of winter but once you get a few days of warm weather it will go downhill fast.

    I agree , just some “ coming out of the box” blues. These are pretty tough palms , slow to gain height but push a lot of new frond’s annually. Harry

    It looks a bit desiccated to me, but it should bounce back this season.

    Cut back the crispy fronds and give it a little extra water. It will bounce back. The two pictures below are only one month apart. I had 90% burn after 5 degrees with no protection.
