Leonel Mera and I, in 1999, collecting Coccothrinax ekmanii in the Dominican Republic. I climbed the palm, but it started to lean when I was up. It was quite scary, but I decided to go up to the top, so the palm would bend more and more until I could gently land to the ground, hanging from the top of the palm. Leonel is holding the leaf, I was still upset after this little adventure.

I havn't been down to the S Marks area... I have gotten into kayak fishing and have been trying to get a weekend to take down there. tons of wildlife I hear. looks great and only a short drive from town.
