I started peeling back some dead leaf bases to help it. I'm an idiot, but it really looks like it's trying to push 2 spears at once to me. I just can't peel back much more without peeling off the still green outer fronds. I think it lost more inner growth than outer. IMG_20250714_173217.thumb.jpg.95bc849a045c83fd596d74cf724fe97b.jpg

It's been back in the full sun and i water it whenever it doesn't rain. It's in one of those "bottom watering" pots that I thought were so cool when I first got into palms... Then I had to pull roots out of those tiny holes and hated them. Now I like them again because it's impossible to over water them and you just pour it all out and the roots all stay wet. I'll hate it again next year when I plant this thing and have to fish 4 years worth of giant root through holes the size of a thumbtack.

I think this is the 3rd or 4th time this palm has started pushing itself out of the pot. With all the stress it's been through and it just now pushing healthy growth 6 months after the harsh temps it saw, I don't want to repot it and I'm taking y'all's advice and giving it another year before I plant it out. Hell, I guess I can just throw mulch on it. The cats can't mess with it right now anyway. IMG_20250717_163725.thumb.jpg.b11a1305ffdf7db076b363fb2087a8ad.jpg

I gave it a couple spoonfuls of Carl Pool before the rain we (FINALLY) got the other day. I can't believe it's still alive.

@JohnAndSancho just pee on it.

I'll save that for the cheaper stuff. Once it recovers fully I think this is a ~$300 plant.
