Well it's not exactly a holiday for palms but I guess by name only.  I celebrated by planting my Cyphophoenix elegans and Chamaerops humilis 'argentata'.  Anyone else doing some palm planting this weekend?

The Bible story is in the book of John chapter 12 verses 12-18 fulfilling the prophecy of Zechariah chapter 9 verse 9.  Just days before Jesus would be hung on a cross.

I remember as a wee boy helping my Mum make palm crosses at church . I don’t know what palm fronds were used . The beginning of a palm obsession only to resurface decades later! We were Episcopalians as many Protestant Irish are . Harry

@Fusca I made it Palm and Cycad Sunday, filling ina new bed area in the NW.  For palms I put in a triple Ptychosperma Salomonense, 2x Ravenea Hildebrandtii, 2x Syagrus Schizophylla, 2x Cyphophoenix Nucele and an Attalea Speciosa.  I also transplanted an Acoelorrhaphe Wrightii that was accidentally planted way too close to the septic drainfield.  For cycads I planted a Dioon Rzedowskii and Argentea, Cycas Diannanensis, two Guizhouensis, a Revoluta x Diannanensis, and a Multipinnata.  For Encephalartos I planted a Ferox "Kosi" and an unknown hybrid that looks like Horridus x "something."  For color I put in 5 big 7g pots of Hawaiian Ti "Red Sister."  I am...tired.
