Does anyone have and experience with trachycarpus fortunei in the west texas / general odessa texas area? I want to get one because my majesty palm died  but i don't want to have the same problem with having too much sun and just baking the thing. I know there is some near me but i don't think they do well and they look pretty sad so im not sure if its worth it. If anyone's got insight please let me know, thanks!

Trachycaprus fortunei Windmill palm doesn't perform well in arid, high heat areas. I think the best you might hope for is a shaded (especially during the hottest part of the day) area and routine deep irrigation.

    I agree with @Las Palmas Norte - even in East Texas they don't look good if they are in full sun and not irrigated well.  Brahea species and Sabal uresana would do much better although they grow slowly.  Majesties aren't going to last long at all due to their thirsty habit and lack of cold tolerance.
