PricklyPearSATX
Newbie here, who likes to watch the weather: Nation's High: This winter, it seems like South Florida is winning over the Lower Rio Grande Valley(South TX) It's always a dual between the two. However, South Florida probably always wins on the highest nightime lows. Texas just isn't humid enough. NBTX11
(bubba @ Jan. 19 2008,12:07)QUOTEBrownsville,Tx high was only 47F.I find that hard to believe. Won't last, they are predicted to be back up to upper 70s in a couple days. It always heats up fast in south Texas. The Rio Grande Valley is basically identical to Central Florida (Tampa/Orlando) in the winter, or as close as you can get to it. Both avg about 70F for January highs, 50F for lows, and heat up quickly in spring. South FL is a little warmer although the absolute max highs can be much higher in TX as you have seen.
