I was fortunate enough to get my little cultivation fingers on some syagrus picrophylla seeds very fast and easy to germinate bottom heating 30 degrees Celsius coco coir perlite mix not really a fan of syagrus I think the romanzoffiana might have something to do with that putting me of the genus but when you look at the syagrus varieties there are some real nice ones worth growing and what collector can go pass a new variety for there collection that being said I don’t have any romanzoffiana in my collection for a good reason.

The seeds are very similar to Queen palm seeds. I grew a few Syagrus Romanzoffiana when I first moved to this house to create a canopy for my other palms . They grow so fast here and do a great job , but they are messy unless trimmed regularly. I have some babies pop up from time to time but I think it takes a year or more for them to germinate in the wild . Harry

Easy as seedlings and juveniles, as long as conditions do not promote a rsm infestation and they become hardier with age.

They are a rather large seed I only hope that don’t become a weed like the cocos palm the queen palm was the first palm i germinated so a good palm to learn on but I soon realised that they are not for me and dug them out my only regret is gave them to my neighbour now I have them as weeds coming up all over my land and cannot kill the parent tree as it not mine to do so no they are such a big weed the bats drip the seeds all over the place and my sandy soil just washes over them in the rain and instantly they germinate but still a good palm in the right situation in habitat they look amazing to see just not in my backyard
