A little update on our palms this summer, only one we lost was the windmill. I think bad location and heat where it was planted. It never really took off from the 7gal size that it was.  1) Mexican fan 2) sabal Mexicana 3) sabal Mexicana

Looks like they've recovered well. How cold did it get?

if i remember correctly it was below 0 about 4 days and the worst was -9f. However, i do wrap them with lights and frost cloth. For that event when i realized (a couple days before that it was in fact truly coming lol) I built structures around each of them with insulation board and clear coro plastic. All but the small sabal. I didn't have anymore insulation board. so i built a pvc frame around it and wrapped that with a tarp and had lights underneath. They are all doing great for sure. Most winters i dont wrap the sabals at all and just cover on cold days, when i have protect them its usually not until jan-mid march
