Bouncing back much better than the Trachy…lower trunks really doing well…large trunk fronds are quite small but guess the developing ones on the inside took a hit too…been a very weird sort of spring (or normal? usually we fly right into summer)…chilly 50’s at night, 70’s or low 80’s daytime…very DRY and the smoke from Canada’s wild fires blotting out a fair amount of sunlight may be slowing the Trachy a bit but looks to be clearing today. Hope other recoveries are going well…very impressed with this trooper!

Coming back fast! Do you have an updated shot on that minor next to it? Can't tell if it's the difference in angle or if it also has a few new fronds.

Yes, my friend and thanks for asking:

It’s working on two new ones right now…Sabal McCurtain…it’s a great no protection palm, really nice kind of bluish green in person and seems to be speeding up on the growth…paying attention to water and fertilizer…

Very happy to see that the main trunk was not lost. Congratulations.

Dodged a couple single digit bullets! Will be more careful this winter for sure.

Quick update…the Trachy is on the move…any exposed winter spears got damaged, but the buried part of the spear did good…fully exposed fronds look terrible…they look greener in the pic than they actually are…worst it’s looked in 8 years! but I won’t complain anymore and will learn how to live with not-so-perfect fronds…the trunk on this thing is fantastic…11’ or so and really furry on the upper third…

The Medi still pushing smaller fronds out of the 3’ trunk…the smaller trunks are pushing normal size fronds? But it’s recovery will be complete by season’s end…
