It's so wild to me, how some of the most cold-hardy palms also look, in my opinion, the most wild.  A big minor is one of the most "jungle" looking palms I can think of.  And these are getting big!

@Allen I know you've posted it but I can't remember, how long has this minor been in ground and what size did it start as ?

Aug 2024_18.JPG

Edit- is that a regular minor?  It's got the deep v-cut down the middle but it also looks like it has a costapalmate arch as well.

I have been using these https://amazon.com/dp/B0C2Z6G46M They die in a couple years but it's impossible to run wires in my landscape area.   Wired is best if you have a few large palms or a area not so jungly otherwise solar are the go to for hard to reach spots.  There are over 60 lights in my garden

Hey thanks for taking the time for this. Solar powered are certainly more convenient for several reasons. In my northerly latitude and PNW mainly overcast winters, I'm probably only going to get a one year life from them. I've used a couple of security lights that seem to only last that long and I've since replaced those with hard wired lighting. I was always hopeful that these would improve their lifespan as did solar panel has for powering homes etc. No profit selling them with expanded life cycles.😆 Regards.
