Josh mayfield
Good afternoon, I recently dug up several satakentia seedlings, I took special care to make sure the roots never dried out and had them back in moist soil within minutes of digging them up. It’s been about 3 weeks now and most look sick. And tips on how to make them recover?
Johnny Palmseed
Mine did the same thing. I found these to be quite sensitive at this size. They do not transplant well. I’m sorry to say but you probably will lose most if not all of them. If I were to guess, I would say they developed a fungal problem. I bought a community pot of replacements last spring and the guy who I bought them from said to leave them alone for a year or two before trying to separate them. PalmatierMeg
Small Satakentia seedlings are very tricky and hard to keep alive. I grew some from seed and only a few made it past the seedling stage. Looks like yours are damping off. Over watering and cool temps promote damping off. 1 Meg Palms of Victory I shall wear Cape Coral (It's Just Paradise) Florida Zone 10A on the Isabelle Canal Elevation: 15 feetI'd like to be under the sea in an octopus' garden in the shade.
